D.C. Water: Brentwood Reservoir

Working Power is co-developing a 1.8 MW community solar project with local nonprofit affordable housing advocate the National Housing Trust, on D.C. Water’s capped Brentwood Reservoir in the District’s Ward 5. This project is one of D.C.’s largest community solar projects and will provide reduced cost electricity to 500+ low-income residents. It includes co-ownership with the National Housing Trust, partnership with SunLight General Capital, and funding support from DCSEU’s Solar for All program. The project cost approximately $5 million to construct and will generate $8 million in energy cost savings, community partner revenue, and lease payments to D.C. Water.
